The New Orleans Concert Band’s Season Opening Concert


The New Orleans Concert Band will give its first concert of the season on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 3:00 PM in the UNO Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public. The program features music by American composers. The highlight of the concert will be a performance of Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Norman Robinson from WDSU. In addition, the band will perform dances from West Side Story, Chester by William Schuman, a medley of songs from A Chorus Line in memory of Marvin Hamlisch, and a medley of American service songs in honor of Veterans’ Day.
