UNO students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to participate in a FREE Positive Psychology Workshop Series!
Counseling Services will offer a five-week Positive Psychology Workshop Series beginning Wednesday Oct 17th. Positive Psychology is defined as “the scientific study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive,” or more simply, “the science of happiness.” Participants in the Positive Psychology Workshop Series will be taught and guided through simple exercises that have been empirically shown to boost well-being, increase satisfaction in daily life and raise levels of happiness and contentment. For example, in the Gratitude Diary activity, students will write down three good things that happened during their day every night for a week and will then explore the causal factors related to these positive occurrences. After completing each activity, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their reactions in a group setting.
The workshop series is FREE and open to students, faculty and staff. The group will meet every Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. from October 17th to November 14th in UC 206.
